Ghislaine Maxwell in 2020 was arrested at a mansion in New Hampshire where the woman had owned since December 2019 a 63-hectare property acquired through an anonymous company, the LLC "Granite Reality"; investigators also traced back to her 15 bank accounts into which approximately $20 million had been deposited since 2016.

After a month-long trial in Manhattan federal court, Maxwell was found guilty of five of the six charges against her on 29 December 2021: According to the jury, she solicited dozens of underage girls on Epstein's behalf between 1994 and 2004.

In June 2022, she was sentenced to 20 years in prison for child grooming and other offences committed with or on behalf of JE.
