Cultural Olympiad, must-see exhibitions dedicated to the mountains
Between the Triennale and Mudec: snow and mountains between technology, design and science
At the Triennale and Mudec- Museo delle Culture, two exhibitions are scheduled to address the theme of snow and mountain activities from complementary perspectives, interweaving technology, design, environment, science and anthropology. The first, open until 15 March, is entitled "White Out. The Future of Winter Sports" and explores the relationship between winter sports, innovation and extreme conditions, with a conscious look at the transformations imposed by climate change. The exhibition is divided into nine thematic sections and brings together around 200 objects including sports equipment, experimental materials, infrastructures and architectural projects created between 1938 and 2026. The second, 'The Meaning of Snow / The Meaning of Snow', runs from 12 February to 28 June and broadens the view in an interdisciplinary key. It brings together more than 150 works and objects in a journey through three major thematic areas, ranging from the geometry of snow crystals to artistic representations of Western and Eastern culture (including Arctic regions and Tierra del Fuego) to the environmental and social implications of global warming.
