From Bormio to the church of San Gallo, a walk through history
From the centre of Bormio, a route of about 4 kilometres leads to the church of San Gallo, crossing the Molina plain and offering beautiful views of Monte Reit and the peaks of Valdidentro. The trail, of moderate difficulty, is suitable for trekking, running and mountain biking, and lends itself to a winter walk of just over an hour, skirting the Campello stream. The origins of the small Gothic church with its sloping roof and pointed spire bell tower date back to 1243 and its history is shrouded in local legends linked to the souls of those executed in the nearby Pra' della Giustizia.
