Demography and education: Bologna tops in Italy

This year, for the "Demography, health and society" item, five new indicators were introduced, two of which related to education, which changed the ranking. Thanks to this change, Bologna gains first place in the ranking, mainly due to the number of high school graduates and years of study of citizens. Three other Emilian cities (Reggio Emilia, Parma, Modena) are in the top ten. Among the southern provinces able to prevail are Cagliari for the presence of general practitioners, Caserta for the best ratio of population of non-working age to working age, and Vibo Valentia for mortality due to cancer.
