Business, start-ups and innovation: Milan leads the big cities

The top ten for the "Business and work" sector consists mostly of large cities. Milan is at the top, followed by several provinces in the Centre-North that are headed by large centres: Bologna is third, Rome seventh, Florence ninth and Turin tenth. The overall ranking confirms a gap with the South and the Islands, although there are signs of liveliness, highlighted by Cagliari's 18th place, Bari's 42nd and Sassari's 51st.
