In the starry firmament with Bianca and Pier Maria at Torrechiara

The Castle of Torrechiara is located right where the Apennines begin and the Parma River flows, on the banks of which the legendary raw ham is aged, right at the mouth of the access roads to Liguria and Tuscany. Pier Maria Rossi, Count of San Secondo and, above all, a condottiere in the service of the Visconti family, consummated his love for Bianca Pellegrini d'Arluno, lady-in-waiting to the Duchess of Milan, there, and had the rooms frescoed precisely to exalt the beauty of her and the territories under his rule.
