Lori Chavez-DeRemer

On 21 April, US President Donald Trump torpedoed the third secretary of state: Secretary of Labour Lori Chavez-DeRemer.
Chavez-DeRemer is leaving the administration to take up a position in the private sector.
In her place, Keith Sonderling will take over as acting secretary of labour.
According to sources quoted in the US media, Chavez-DeRemer has resigned.
Her tenure at the Department of Labour has been marred by multiple scandals related to inappropriate conduct, including an alleged extramarital affair with a member of her security staff.
She has also been accused of creating a toxic work environment, using public funds for personal travel and consuming alcohol in the office.
Her husband, Shawn DeRemer, was banned from the Department of Labour headquarters following allegations of sexual harassment.
