Mark Zuckerberg (Meta)
Mark Zuckerberg represents the almost opposite view. The founder of Meta has become the leading advocate for the open development of language models through the Llama family, arguing that wider adoption of the technology promotes innovation, competition and security.
For Zuckerberg, the greatest risk lies not so much in the excessive pace of development as in the concentration of power in the hands of a few operators. For this reason, Meta has generally been sceptical of calls from cutting-edge research laboratories to slow down, preferring instead to rely on competition and open source as means of regulating the sector.
