Eicma could be the ideal showcase for Moto Guzzi’s entry-level model, which might be called ‘The Trip 500’ (Piaggio has registered this name, which can be used for both vehicles and accessories). The latest addition to the Mandello del Lario-based manufacturer’s range could be a high-performance modern classic, according to some rumours, powered by a 457 cc parallel-twin engine (the same as that used in the Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457), moving away from the traditional transverse V-twin – the hallmark of Moto Guzzi – and the cardan final drive in favour of a more economical solution. The final name, power output, price and technical specifications are yet to be confirmed. Pictured is the current entry-level model, the V7 Stone.
