Yamaha Ténéré 900

Yamaha could expand the Ténéré range with a new maxi-enduro, set to sit at the top of the range. The rumoured Ténéré 900 is the subject of speculation ahead of EICMA 2026, fuelled by a teaser from the Japanese manufacturer showing three pulses on a graph resembling an electrocardiogram. This clue has led to speculation about the use of a three-cylinder engine, perhaps derived from the 890 cc CP3 unit already used on other models (MT-09 and Tracer 9). Speculation also centres on a specific ignition timing, designed to improve traction on rough terrain. The aim would be to offer a crossover more powerful than the Ténéré 700, without compromising its off-road capabilities. For now, however, the name, engine capacity and technical specifications remain to be confirmed: Yamaha has announced a launch event for 2 November in Milan, on the eve of EICMA, without specifying which model will be unveiled.
