From Marina di Ravenna to Cattolica: the Riviera everyone likes in eight stages
Riccione, the holiday starts at dawn amid music, culture and traditions
Elegant and pop, sophisticated and light, able to go from the tranquillity of a breakfast in Viale Ceccarini to the energy of a night in discomusic temples like Cocoricò and Peter Pan. Riccione lives and shares its dual soul with its guests (almost one million arrivals in 2025) and is preparing to experience another holiday season of music, cultural events and experiences of various kinds. In the extensive entertainment programme, Riccione Music City is the initiative that will bring artists such as Emma, Negramaro, Pooh, and the immortal Riccardo Cocciante to the square between July and August, while the most evocative format (scheduled between 21 June and 9 August) is that of the "Albe in controuce", i.e., free concerts on the seashore at sunrise that recall the international phenomenon of soft clubbing. The craving for culture, on the other hand, is satisfied at Villa Mussolini, an exhibition space dedicated above all to photography, where Bruno Barbey's black and white shots of the contradictions of Italy during the economic boom are currently on display (until 27 September). The history of the sea, on the other hand, can be breathed intensely at the nearby Riccione Nautical Club, where the Saviolina is carefully moored and cared for, a boat that is a symbol of the local seafaring tradition (it will be 100 years old in 2028) and the absolute protagonist of events such as the Festa della Madonna del Mare (this year it falls on 18 and 19 July) with the traditional parade of ancient boats of the Upper Adriatic. And finally, for lovers of good food and good drink, some symbolic places of conviviality: the informal tables of Nico Casa & Bottega, a small venue where Romagna cuisine also becomes a story; the terrace on the beach and sea view of the Da Carlo restaurant, where dozens of celebrities from the world of entertainment have toasted and tasted dishes based on raw fish and seafood; the elegant spaces of the 5-star Promenade Luxury Hotel, where a sushi dinner is combined with a wellness experience complete with Finnish sauna, hammam, heated outdoor pool and massages.
