From Marina di Ravenna to Cattolica: the Riviera everyone likes in eight stages

Slow tourism in the San Bartolo Park, where the hill falls into the sea

Parco Monte San Bartolo

At the southern end of the Romagna Riviera, on the border with Le Marche and just inland from Gabicce, there is a place worth visiting for its profoundly different nature compared to the classic landscape of the Adriatic coastline. Here the coast rises, the sea takes on more crystalline tones, and this is the most authentic picture of the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, a green promontory suspended between hills planted with vineyards and small beaches, an ideal place for slow, contemplative tourism made up of walks and cycle rides among the flowering broom, wooded stretches and boundless views such as the one offered by the locality known as the "Roof of the World". The Panoramic Road, which touches Gabicce Monte with its natural terrace before descending to Pesaro, crosses the heart of the park and offers two-wheel enthusiasts the opportunity to complete a ring that takes them back to the Romagna coast of Cattolica, Misano and Riccione along the seafront cycle path.
