Scent of olives, black celery and truffles in the rural landscapes from Trevi to Montefalco
The ideal gastronomic stop
Trevi is worth a gastronomic stop to discover the Sedano Nero (Black Celery), a Slow Food presidium since 2008, which is reinterpreted here with contemporary boldness in the taverns of the historic centre and becomes the king of the village in October on the occasion of the festival dedicated to it. This month sees the Ottobre Trevano, a festival containing a series of food and wine initiatives and medieval re-enactments. Spring is also an excellent opportunity for slow tourism that brings visitors into contact with local products: from 1 to 3 May, the 'Merenda nell'Oliveta-Sapori Trevani' is organised at Villa Fabri and along the olive grove. During the summer, other initiatives are planned, the first of which, scheduled for 13 June, is 'Notti del Vino' (Wine Nights), with the participation of local wine cellars, while on 20 June there is the 'Notte Romantica dei Borghi' (Romantic Night of the Villages), and in the following summer months various musical events are scheduled. Farms and historic oil mills open their doors to visitors all year round with experiences that combine technique and conviviality: guided tastings of Evo Dop oil, freshly toasted bruschetta, local cheeses and Umbrian wines.
