Ten exciting adventures on the island of Ischia

11/11Weekend

Above the sunken city of Aenaria and the Eden Garden

Swimming above the submerged vestiges of the Roman city of Aenaria, later destroyed by a volcanic eruption, recognising the remains of its roads and patrician villas while watching the castle, the island's symbol, pop up on the horizon amid authentic lava cakes. It is perhaps the most extraordinary and decidedly glamorous immersive experience one can have at the Eden Garden. It rises beneath the Guevara or Michelangelo Tower, repository of legends about the artist and his alleged island love affairs, and is surrounded by ancient walls, while palm trees soar in its botanical interior. You can arrive by boat, lie in the sun on the terraces around the central islet, have lunch at the restaurant famous for its raw fish dishes, its spaghetti called Estate and its pastries. The Germani family happily recounts the adventures of the founder of the family, Ugo, from trips out to sea with Pablo Picasso to crossings with Gianni Agnelli, all of whom were won over by the genuineness of the creator of this Resort Beach Club, which has also been passed down to his descendants.
