Landscapes, experiences and discoveries in green Denmark
Bakery tourism and street food
In Copenhagen, the art of the coffee break is a philosophy of life that perfectly embodies that sense of intimacy and well-being in a sophisticated and cosy design environment, increasingly represented by bakeries.to discover old and new addresses, tours are organised either on foot or by bicycle, such as those set up by Marie and Lily of My Dear Copenhagen that take you to iconic places but also to more secluded bakeries where you can taste the best Wienerbrød (spirals of buttery, golden, fragrant puff pastry, born from the encounter between Viennese technique and Nordic taste) and/or buy fragrant rye breads made with ancient flours, leavened for up to three days. Unmissable stops include Apotek57 Lido Riviera by Italian Chiara Barla, Hart Bageri founded by former San Francisco Tartine head pastry chef Richard Hart and Noma co-founder René Redzepi. Also not to be missed are Sinne gas bageri, in the district of Østerbro, famous for its Brunsviger butter and brown sugar, as well as Andersen & Maillard, Juno the Bakery and Lille in the old industrial area of Refshaleøen. On 13 March for the ninth consecutive year Reffen - Copenhagen Street Food reopened, Scandinavia's largest street food market in an urban area dedicated to start-ups, innovation and creativity, in true Nordic style. Located in Refshaleøen, Copenhagen, it is a landmark for lovers of street food and new cultural trends. More than 50 start-ups, including food stands, bars and creative boutiques, animate a very large area (a large former workshop), with indoor and outdoor spaces, right next to the water, where locals and foreigners meet to experience a creative mix in which street food goes hand in hand with creative workshops, cultural experiences and innovative projects, giving new energy to this area of the city.
