Copenhagen amidst cherry blossom and outdoor events

Copenhagen once again this year topped the list of the world's best places to live (The Institute for Quality of Life's Happy City Index ranking) thanks to its harmonious mix of history, innovation and sustainability, while promoting the cultural growth of its inhabitants, a high level of education, a particularly lively entrepreneurial fabric and high average incomes, while respecting the work-life balance. All this thanks to a sustainable transport system, a strong focus on air quality, ample green spaces and, more generally, widespread care for collective well-being. Spring awakens amidst blossoming parks, water terraces and an urban life that slowly comes back to life. Like that in the neighbourhoods along the harbour (Islands Brygge, Nordhavn) that become meeting places among cafés, urban baths and promenades.  In the heart of the city, wonderful colours invest the Tivoli gardens that  reopen with seasonal arrangements and spectacular blooms. Over 85,000 tulips are in full bloom, flanked by daffodils and hyacinths in beautiful, colourful beds.  The largest area dedicated to daffodils is in front of the theatre, while among the roses the 'Tivoli 150' variety (or Château Paviee), yellow and fragrant, stands out.The world's most visited seasonal amusement park ( Gardens of Tivoli), entertaining visitors since 1843 with that mix of rollercoasters, attractions, concerts and culture, even for the little ones it is an experience not to be missed. If the explosion of greenery assails parks like King's Garden and Frederiksberg Have, one of the most iconic moments of spring in Copenhagen is the cherry blossom. Langelinie Park, a picturesque coastal area known for its famous statue of the Little Mermaid, reveals one of the most photographed images with its more than 200 cherry blossom trees and views of the harbour. Just at the end of April here one can participate in the Copenhagen Sakura Festival that revives a tradition inherited from the Japanese where once a year, when the trees blossom, families, lovers and friends meet under the pink blossoms.
