Langhe to love in the sign of Barolo

Harvest time, winery visits and tastings, but in Bra it is also time for Cheese, the great international cheese event that attracts exhibitors and visitors from all over the world, scheduled from 19 to 22 September. A weekend in the Langhe is an opportunity to learn more about the two iconic products of this area, and an ideal starting point could be Cantine Matteo Ascheri, the only urban winery in the historic Cuneo town and one of the few in the whole of Piedmont. In addition to the wine shop where the great Barolo and traditional wines (Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis) can be tasted, there is the Osteria Murivecchi with a menu of typical dishes and a 4-star hotel with a brand new spa area organised on three levels. Visits to historic wine cellars, tastings of cru labels, but also more active experiences such as panoramic Vespa tours and e-bike rides through the vineyards and along the white roads that connect historic villages like La Morra, Barolo, Monforte and Serralunga d'Alba: this is the recipe for discovering the Langhe prepared by Cascina Galarej, a four-star wine resort restored from a late 19th-century farmhouse and perched on the ridge of the Gallareto hill in the Village of Narrating Fontanafredda. Here you can stay in rooms overlooking a backdrop of hectares and hectares of organically-grown vineyards, enhanced by the presence of the famous Grinzane Cavour Castle, and you can relax in the spa created in a former barn with a heated swimming pool (indoor and outdoor) and skin treatments based on Barbera and Nebbiolo grape must.
