Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden: a film set

The Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden is the most famous castle in Carinthia and is located on the shores of Lake Wörthersee in Velden. Dating back to 1585, after various renovations over the centuries, it was used as a film set for movies and television productions from 1952 onwards and eventually became famous thanks to the film 'A Castle on Wörthersee'. Today, it is managed by the Falkensteiner Group and offers its guests not only a regal overnight stay in the castle, but also a 3,600 m2 wellness area and the "Schlossstern" and "Seespitz" restaurants, with chef Thomas Gruber at the helm, whose motto is: "Taste begins in the fields and meadows, in the stables and gardens, in the minds and hearts of our Slow Food suppliers".
