The exclusivity of Hotel Burg Taggenbrunn

Probably the most exclusive and at the same time most majestic castle in Carinthia, it towers proudly above St. Veit an der Glan and has recently allowed tourists to stay overnight, immersed in the historic atmosphere. Taggenbrunn Castle was built at the beginning of the 12th century on the remains of a walled Celtic-Roman settlement. Over the centuries, it became a ruin. In 2011, it was bought by the entrepreneur Alfred Riedl, founder and CEO of the watch brand Jacques Lemans, who had the castle restored, always with the aim of preserving as much of its original condition as possible, and at the same time planted a vineyard. A hotel, a restaurant, a farm shop and a late Gothic barn for events are located at the foot of the castle. The historic complex is also the location of the Taggenbrunn Festival. Guests are greeted by an artistic sculpture by André Heller: the 15-metre-high Goddess of Time, an artistic landmark in central Carinthia.
