ITALY - 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi - 3 October

The 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi will be celebrated in 2026, with celebrations centred in Assisi and other cities linked to the Saint. The celebrations are promoted by a national committee established by the government, with numerous religious, cultural and civil initiatives planned to commemorate the Saint.
