Other hotels to consider in order to understand the spirit of Oslo are the Bristol, an elegant Edwardian-era structure (it opened in 1920) in a quiet street in the old city centre, and above all The Thief, a sort of contemporary art gallery, one of the emblems (also thanks to its famous cocktail bar) of Aker Brygge, Oslo's new cool and fashionable area.
