In the Andean regions of northern Argentina
The Cordillera de los Andes, which connects Peru and Argentina and traverses the whole of South America, is a perfect tourist attraction, showcasing a wide variety of landscapes: from Peru, with the archaeological peaks of the Incas and the Rainbow Mountain of Vinicunca, to Argentina, home of Aconcagua (the highest peak in the Americas), with areas ranging from the arid Puna to the icy peaks of Patagonia. A journey along the Cordillera in the Argentinean section leads through high-altitude deserts and passes over 4,500 metres, pushing along dirt tracks in off-road vehicles, accompanied by cobalt blue skies and snow-capped volcanoes. One landscape after another ready to surprise the visitor's eye: glacial formations in the heart of the desert, lagoons inhabited by pink flamingos, a pumice field like a lunar labyrinth emerging from black sands, and the elegant herds of vicuñas that populate these highlands. An itinerary that is not just about scenic beauty: it is above all about relationships, since it allows you to meet small Andean communities such as San Francisco de Alfarcito, Hornaditas and Corralitos, where time slows down and the welcome has the authentic flavour of sharing. One can participate in workshops to dye wool with natural pigments, cook a typical Salteña recipe with the women of the community, take part in a collective ritual in honour of Pachamama. These are experiences that regenerate, that restore and strengthen bonds, and that focus on the dignity of local knowledge.
