Autumn tour of Lucania's cult places and experiences
In the Mercadante Forest with visionaries and good Dicecca
This is a small encroachment into Apulia, justified by its close proximity to Matera and the opportunity to take a walk along the ring of conifers and cypresses of the Foresta Mercadante, which covers 1,300 hectares between Altamura and Cassano delle Murge, heralded by an infinite expanse of almond trees. Guiding us along this route, and above all cheering us up with his tales of botany and cuisine, is Vito Dicecca, who for some years now has been devoting himself to an emeritus work of storytelling and dairy and gastronomic restyling of the Murge landscape. Together with his wife Roberta De Lia, in fact, after the kiosk, Vito has opened the Bay Dicecca micro dairy at the edge of the forest, where you can taste classic local cheeses, those invented and patented by this pair of very concrete visionaries, pastas, ice creams, an entire menu based on dairy products.
