“Dolls dressing” tells a fascinating story waiting to be rediscovered: that of the relationship between dolls and fashion, which began as early as the 14th century, when miniature figurines of women dressed in the latest fashions were circulating throughout Europe; it continued through the 19th-century fashion houses and has reached us today, with designers – from Moschino to Balenciaga – drawing inspiration from the fairy-tale world of dolls for their creations
