Haute couture, art, history: this autumn’s fashion exhibitions

The history of fashion in Turin
From 15 October, Palazzo Madama is hosting the exhibition ‘The Body of the City. Fashion and the Arts from Art Nouveau to Modernity, 1884–1961’, which traces the golden age of Turin fashion through paintings, sculptures, 40 garments from the city’s tailors, photographs, posters and documents. Taking the major exhibitions as its starting point – from the 1884 Italian General Exhibition right through to the grand Italia ’61 exhibition – the exhibition invites us to reflect on the city as a living organism, in constant transformation, and on the body as the place where the changes brought about by modernity become visible.
Palazzo Madama – until 22 February 2027
