The coats of arms of the cardinals: this is how the papabili present themselves to the world

Motto: Vivere Christus est (To live is Christ)
Scheme: A red band crosses the shield with the golden cross in the centre, the alpha and omega at the top and the monogram of the Virgin Mary at the bottom. In the background on the upper right a turreted gate over the sea and on the lower left a stump with three swords.
Message: Turkson, therefore, proposes a Marian Church firm in the faith, a fortress for the faithful, where the three swords on the log symbolise the three theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity. The Pauline motto ("for me to live is Christ and to die is gain") indicates a missionary vocation, centred on Christ, the beginning and end of all things, under the protection of Our Lady.
