The coats of arms of the cardinals: this is how the papabili present themselves to the world

Pietro Parolin (1955), Vatican Cardinal Secretary of State
Motto: Quis nos separabit a caritate Christi? (Who will separate us from the love of Christ?)
Symbol: A silver cross charged in the centre with a cauldron, a reference to the origin of the surname Parolin, possibly deriving from the Vicentine word 'parol' (small cauldron). In the quarters a golden M, a Marian symbol, and three eight-pointed stars, which in ecclesiastical heraldry represent both the Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ and of the Church, and the eight evangelical beatitudes.
Message: Parolin, therefore, proposes a Marian and domestic Church, nurturing and welcoming, loved by Christ and therefore capable of works of mercy, with a strong identity accent (the cauldron).
