Suzuki Sv-7Gx

With the Sv-7Gx, the Hamamatsu company enters the mid-size road crossover segment, a category that moves significant volumes and still shows growth margins on an international scale. Built on the V-twin platform of the Sv650, it inherits many of the features of the V-Strom 650XT and is inspired by the styling of its big sister Gsx-S 1000Gx. Conceived as a mid-size naked bike with a balanced character, the Sv-7Gx focuses on simplicity (seat height is just 795 mm and ride weight is 211 kg) and riding pleasure: the riding position is comfortable, a mix between the slightly forward leaning position of the naked bike and the more upright, adventure-touring position of the V-Storm 650. Wide, variable-section aluminium handlebars and a secure, stable knee grip on the 17.4-litre fuel tank ensure adequate control while riding. The 73.4 hp liquid-cooled 652 cc V-twin engine delivers a full-bodied and consistent power delivery throughout the rev range. The chassis relies on a steel trellis frame for rigidity and feel, combined with a conventional front fork and preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Electronics complete the picture, including adjustable traction control, three riding modes, and the Quick Shift System gearbox.
