Touring band parades in Taranto

In Taranto, this is the Christmas of Christmas parades that animate many of the city's neighbourhoods, starting with Tamburi, which has paid so much in tariffs for the presence of the former Ilva. On Christmas Eve, in particular, from 3 to 7 a.m., the Gran Complesso Bandistico G. Paisiello and the Grande Orchestra di Fiati Santa Cecilia will cross the main streets of the city centre, the suburbs and the areas facing the sea playing non-stop. In Piazza Maria Immacolata, one can meanwhile enjoy the spectacle of the illuminations, while at Palazzo Archita a Narrative Wall has been set up to which one can entrust Christmas dreams and wishes for the New Year. The façades and interiors of the Mother of God Co-Cathedral designed by Gio Ponti are also worth a visit, as are the columns of the Doric temple in the Old Town and the court of the Aragonese Castle where the French general Thomas Alexandre Dumas, father of the famous writer, was imprisoned for sixteen months.
