Travelling sustainably with 'snow trains'

Go to the mountains to ski, snowshoe and visit markets aboard 'snow trains'. The Trenord proposal is renewed for the 2024-2025 season, allowing passengers to travel from any station in Lombardy to some of the Region's ski resorts (Aprica, Valmalenco, Madesimo and Piani di Bobbio, as well as Domobianca, in Piedmont) with a special price ticket that includes a return trip, shuttle bus to the lifts and ski pass. Also returning on Saturday 14 December is the special ride to the Christmas markets, which this year will have Bolzano as its destination. Tickets can be purchased online and must be used on the day chosen at the time of purchase, starting on Saturday 7 December. A few examples? For the day package for Valmalenco that stops in Sondrio, you spend 63 euros if you ski (the adult+child rate up to 13 years old is 111 euros) and 61 euros (including snowshoe hire) if you prefer walking in the snow. For Madesimo (via Chiavenna) the service is only valid on Sundays and costs 60 euro.
