Postcards from Vienna to discover in ten adventures

Every Viennese adventure can only begin with an auspicious ride on the Prater Ferris Wheel, assembled in 1897 to mark the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph's accession to the throne. Not least because, during the festive season, this giant 61-metre-diameter pinwheel is all decked out in winking lights, like the other illuminations of the Austrian capital's most electric and glittering Winter Market. Also, the Sisi Museum and the royal flats of the Hofburg, where one is always enraptured by the personal objects and private rooms still permeated with the enchantment of Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria, as well as the evening concerts in St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Beethoven Frieze painted by Gustav Klimt in the Secession Palace, and the glittering boutiques along the Graben provide unforgettable thrills. Vienna, however, has many other experiences to offer.
