Galileo Galilei's telescopes and Michelangelo's Secret Room

Among the cultural stops not to be missed is the Museo Galileo, which for the entire month of December organises fun and stimulating workshops for children and young people The Museo Galileo jealously guards one of the most prestigious scientific collections in the world, with more than a thousand original instruments, including the only two telescopes made by Galileo, thanks to which the scientific genius made the sensational discoveries on celestial bodies that made him famous. Not to be missed in the Medici Chapel Museum, by appointment only, is a visit to Michelangelo's Secret Room. The small room, located under the Museum's New Sacristy and containing drawings attributed to Buonarroti, has been open to visitors for the first time since 15 November 2023, almost 50 years after its discovery.
