Staying in the historic Hotel Brunelleschi building
Instead, between Palazzo della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery is the Brunelleschi hotel, famous not so much and not only because it is surrounded by the city's most famous museums, but because it is a very old historical building that incorporates in its façade a semi-circular Byzantine tower from the 6th century and a medieval church, entirely restored respecting the original features. Inside there is also a private museum that preserves the artefacts found during the restoration of the tower and a calidarium of Roman origin, now embedded in the foundations. The Brunelleschi Hotel is part of the Esercizi Storici Fiorentini. The hotel is also home to one of the city's most interesting gastronomic addresses, the Santa Elisabetta, two Michelin stars from 2021, two forks in the Gambero Rosso 2023 Guide to Italian Restaurants and two hats in the L'Espresso 2024 Gourmet Guide.
