From the peaks of La Dôle to the medieval town of Romainmôtier, the Jura Vaudois Park preserves a unique natural heritage and living traditions from days gone by, such as the ‘Jeunesses Campagnardes’ festivals and the art of dry-stone walling. The Vallée de Joux, at the heart of the park, is famous for fine watchmaking and is home to no fewer than twenty prestigious watchmaking houses. Hiking enthusiasts can follow the “Au Sommet du Jura” walking route, setting off from Le Sentier station to climb to the 1,679-metre summit of Mont Tendre, which offers superb views over Lake Geneva and the Alps. For cyclists, the trails through the wooded pastures are ideal for mountain biking. For accommodation, the futuristic Hôtel des Horlogers in Les Brassus stands out, combining contemporary design with respect for the surrounding environment.
