From the former Favignana prison to the Bourbon Polverificio: tourism investment opportunities in Italy
Around 8 billion euro will be invested in Italy by the major international tourism groups over the next four years. This is the announcement made by the interim CEO of the World Travel&Tourism Council, Gloria Guevara, in the conclusions of the Global Summit held in Rome. The Wttc is the organisation founded in the late 1980s that focuses on the travel and tourism industry and brings together the presidents, CEOs and managers of the major players in the sector such as the major hotel chains, cruise groups, and web booking platforms. The announced figure of investment pledges represents the highest amount brought to a country by the Wttc. No further details were provided, but during the summit Invitalia (the national development agency wholly controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance) illustrated a selection of some investment opportunities for the tourism sector in Italy on available public assets. Here are some of them.
