Up and down South Tyrol waiting for the Brixen bike festival

It is said that in South Tyrol, cycling is not just a sport or an active holiday, but a way of experiencing the region, not by chance one of Europe's leading cycle tourism destinations. This is in fact told by the approximately 550 kilometres of cycle paths that cross its valleys, medieval villages and Dolomite passes, often recovering the route of the old Alpine railways. Among the most popular areas for bikers is, for example, the Val d'Ega: from May to October, mountain bike and e-bike trails connect Nova Levante, Carezza, Nova Ponente and Obereggen and offer the possibility of unforgettable tours such as the Latemar tour. From 10 to 14 June, the Rosadira Bike Days also return, offering guided excursions, technical workshops and tastings, while the Catinaccio massif is tinged pink at sunset with the Enrosadira phenomenon. Another popular destination for two-wheelers is the Plan de Corones Bike Park, where the fun is in freeride, e-bike and downhill with access to the area's trails and the Piz de Plaies routes. Finally, Bressanone, which combines the focus on cycling tourism (the Munich-Venice routes and EuroVelo 7 pass through here) with the urban dimension, electing the mediaeval historic centre as a starting point for pedalling along the Isarco valley, towards the Novacella Abbey or towards the Brixen Bikepark trails on the iconic mountain of these places, the Plose. The appointment not to be missed is scheduled from 17 to 20 September, when the city will host the first edition of the Südtirol Bike Festival: four days of guided tours, meetings, tastings and innovation open to all.
