Bays, cliffs and crystal clear sea: this is where to find the beach of your dreams
Australia: Bay of Fires, Tasmania, tops for Tourism Australia
The beauty of Australia's beaches is world-renowned, and Tourism Australia's official list of 'Australia's Best Beaches 2025' highlights just how extraordinary and diverse the country's coastline is. In first place is Tasmania's Bay of Fires, a piece of paradise stretching more than 50 kilometres from Binalong Bay in the south to Eddystone Point in the north. The northern section of the bay is part of Mount William National Park, while the southern end is a valuable conservation area. This nature reserve is home to a series of pristine beaches, crystal-clear lagoons and rocky cliffs, offering breathtaking landscapes that provide a kaleidoscope of colours. Binalong Bay is the area's main beach, ideal for swimming, surfing or simply relaxing. The best time to go is during the Australian summer, from December to March, when temperatures are milder and days are longer.
