Spain: Las Catedrales (Galicia), between caves and rock formations
Las Catedrales beach, declared a natural monument, is one of the most famous in Galicia and Spain in general. Its most spectacular feature are the rock formations created by wind and water, which have the most curious shapes. At low tide it is possible to take off your shoes and walk under the caves, discovering tunnels and underground passages. Visits at high tide can be made from the top of the cliff, but keep a safe distance. Although admission is free, an entrance ticket must be booked in July, August and September to avoid crowds. Next to the rocks form a multitude of small pools of crystal-clear water, which become warm when the sun shines on them.
