Thermal waters, wine cellars and DJ sets to experience Bormio off-piste
Famous for its technical slopes and its historical thermal baths, Bormio hosts the men's Alpine skiing and (an absolute first) ski mountaineering disciplines: it starts on 7 February with the downhill on the famous Stelvio and closes with the narrow poles specialists on the 16th. Those who will not be on the tracks can follow the races from the giant screen set up in Piazza Cavour/Kuerc, with various entertainment activities including live music, DJ sets and various shows. In the days without races, there are various experiences not to be missed, such as a visit to the Amaro Braulio cellar, the digestive symbol of Valtellina still produced in the historic centre of Bormio, or to the Reit Brewery, whose products are made from buckwheat grown by small producers in Alta Valtellina. A regenerating and wellness stop is a must at the Bagni Vecchi of QC Terme, where the naturally hot thermal waters (which bewitched Leonardo da Vinci for their therapeutic properties) flow from various springs in the Stelvio National Park.
