From Piedmont to Friuli, the pleasure of skiing (and snowshoeing) in the March sunshine

3/11Weekend

Espace San Bernardo, a triumph of snow in the presence of Mont Blanc

 La Thuile Ski area

With Mont Blanc dominating the landscape, La Thuile is one of the most interesting destinations for those who choose to ski in March even on the sunniest days, thanks to the high altitude and favourable exposure that promises excellent snow even during this period. The Espace San Bernardo ski area, with 152 kilometres of pistes served by 38 lifts, unites the Italia and French sides of La Rosière with a single ski pass, offering slopes and runs suitable for skiers of all abilities. The Belvedere and slope number 7, 11 kilometres long, are among the favourite tracks for those who love long descents with panoramic views, while slope 3 Franco Berthod, known for its slope steepness and technicality, is the stage for expert skiers and will be the scene of three Alpine Skiing Women's World Cup races (one free and two SuperG) between 13 and 15 March. A weekend or a skiing holiday in La Thuile is also synonymous with Nordic skiing in the Arly resort or discovering local traditions in the refuges and restaurants of Entrèves, where you can eat traditional Valle d'Aosta dishes.
