Start of the snow season in Trentino Alto Adige: where to go and all the news
In Madonna di Campiglio ideal number of skiers on the slopes
The first piece of good news concerns the increase in the cost of ski passes, which is contained under 3% and is partly calmed by the discounts that reward certain categories (e.g. the under-18s) and the online ticket purchase method (the earlier you anticipate, the less you spend). The second is that the pre-opening in Madonna di Campiglio in the Grostè area is scheduled (but not yet confirmed) for the weekend of 22 and 23 November. The continuous opening of the ski area is scheduled for 28 November, while 4 December will be the turn of those of Folgarida-Marilleva and Pinzolo. The price of a day pass for adults for the entire ski area (the largest in Trentino) is close to 60 euro and gives access to 156 kilometres of slopes, all connected by skis thanks to the 58 lifts connecting Val di Sole and Val Rendena. The big news for the three symbolic resorts of the Brenta Dolomites is the 'ideal number' of daily skiers allowed on the slopes during the busiest periods: from 28 December to 5 January and from 15 to 22 February, the cap of 14-15 thousand presences will be introduced (including season ticket holders, who will have no access limits) to guarantee safety and optimal slope conditions for enthusiasts. Moreover, on peak days, the 'Scia Prima' initiative will return, with the early opening of some lifts at dawn. Finally, to improve skiers' experience, there is the new 'Nube d'Argento' gondola lift, a fully heated ten-seater lift that replaces the old two-seater chairlift, and the 'new' 'Pozza Vecia' slope that connects the Grostè area with the Campo Carlo Magno pass, whose track has been widened and made smoother by eliminating the flat areas.
