Start of the snow season in Trentino Alto Adige: where to go and all the news

Skiing under the Pale between San Martino di Castrozza and Passo Rolle

We are in the Trentino region of the southern Dolomites, at the foot of the fascinating Pale di San Martino peaks that rise to a height of 3,194 metres and the peaks of the Lagorai, and in the heart of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park, an area declared '100% renewable' by Legambiente. The San Martino di Castrozza-Passo Rolle ski area (part of the Dolomiti Superski carousel) offers a varied mix of outdoor activities on the snow and will open the gates of its lifts from 29 November: 60 km of slopes for skiers between 1,400 and 2,400 metres above sea level, from the Colverde slopes ideal for beginners to the more technical Fantasia2000, Direttissima, Rekord and Paradiso for experts. The offer is completed by a snowpark, snowshoeing trails and the panoramic terraces of the mountain huts, where you can enjoy typical local flavours, taking advantage of temperatures that are never too cold and countless days of sunshine. The jewel in the crown of the ski area are the new 10-seater gondola lifts Colbricon Express (in the Ces area) and Val Cigolera, which have made the Carosello delle Malghe area much more accessible, while waiting for the cableway system 1650 metres long for 500 metres of difference in height, also powered by zero-kilometre energy produced by the hydroelectric power stations in the area, which will soon connect San Martino di Castrozza to Passo Rolle.
